Custom Nutrition Plans
Have you be putting in countless hours exercising and still not seeing the results you would like?  You may notice that others at the gym may be facing the same struggles as you.   Month after month and sometimes year after year, some of your fellow gym members seem to be showing little gains compared to the time that is being put into training.  It usually comes down to nutrition.  No matter how motivated and determined you are to exercise, your nutrition is the next piece of the puzzle to reach your fitness goals.

But you watch what you eat and make healthy food choices right?  So how could it be your diet?  Everyone is different and has different nutritional requirements.  For some , it is the size of the portions.  They think they are eating the right portions, but are not.  For others it is the frequency of meals.  Many of us were raised with the idea that three meals a day is the standard.  In actuality, 5 to 6 small meals spread throughout the day is more appropriate.  Another common mistake is consuming the wrong proportions of nutrients (carbohydrates/proteins/fat).  You must consume the proper proportions of nutrients to increase lean muscle, while decreasing fat.

Other people say, “But I hardly eat anything.  My diet can’t be the problem.”  Believe it or not, overeating isn’t the only way to increase body fat.  If you do not eat frequently enough, several things can occur.  First, by skipping meals you will find yourself extremely hungry when you do decide to eat.  This often results in overeating and eating the wrong types of foods.  It’s all about maintaining your blood sugar level.  Eating large meals spikes insulin levels and causes food to be stored as fat.  Another problem with skipping meals is that you are also skipping your protein.  Protein is very important for building and sustaining lean muscle.  If you don’t take in enough protein, your body will compensate by breaking down your muscle for amino acids.  A decrease in muscle mass will result in a lower metabolism, creating a downward spiral.

So how do I know what to eat, how much, and how often?  This is where a Customized Nutrition Plan can help.  We customize your nutritional program based on your needs as an individual by taking into account your gender, age, height, weight, Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR), Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR), Thermic Effect of Foods, body composition, daily schedule, food preferences, etc. and calculate the perfect combination of nutrients for you.  We track your progress and make necessary changes along the way to maximize fat reduction.  There are several plans to fit your needs & budget, so please ask for more information the next time your in the store.  Our goal is to help you reach yours and a custom nutrition plan is the best way to get you there.
